Recent ActivityWelcome to Miss Northup's class!
This will be my 9th year teaching at LRES and I have loved every minute! I attended Bridgewater College and have a degree in both English and Elementary Education. I was a Lake Ridge lifer and have thoroughly enjoyed teaching with some of my former teachers! I am actually teaching 5th grade in the same classroom I was in when I was a 5th grader!
Currently, Mrs. Maddox, Mrs. Joswick, and I are team-teaching. We each teach Language Arts to our own homeroom classes. Throughout the day, we switch for the other subjects. Mrs. Maddox teaches Social Studies, Mrs. Joswick teaches Math, and I teach Science to each 5th grade class. We are a very tight-knit team and love working together and making learning exciting for our students. Our departmentalizing method of teaching allows for a great deal of collaboration and we are confident that with all of our hard work, our 5th graders will be ready to take on the challenges of middle school.
